A WORLD WITHOUT ENOUGH HOMES

Our Core Initiatives

Somewhere tonight, a child will fall asleep on a floor made of compacted earth, beneath a roof of corrugated iron held down by stones. In another city, on another continent, a young couple will lie awake in a rented room they cannot afford, calculating whether next month’s pay cheque will cover the rent or the food, but not both.   In a third place, an elderly woman will sit in a tower block built half a century ago, its concrete walls blooming with damp, its lifts broken for the third time this year, wondering how a building designed to give her dignity has instead given her despair.

Housing at Scale

These are not isolated stories. They are the daily reality for billions of people across every continent on earth. The global housing crisis is not coming. It is here. It has been here for decades. And unless we fundamentally change the way we design, build, fund, and deliver homes, it will define the century ahead.

This chapter sets out the scale of that crisis — not to overwhelm, but to establish clearly what we are dealing with. Because before we can talk about solutions, we must first be honest about the problem. And the problem is enormous.

318,000,000 homeless

Let us begin with the headline figures, because they are staggering in their scale.

According to the United Nations, approximately 318 million people worldwide are homeless. Not inadequately housed. Not living in substandard conditions. Homeless. Without any form of stable shelter. That is roughly the population of the United States, sleeping tonight without a roof

Materials that Surround us.

Here we explore the physical things that surround us.. our clothing, furniture, house hold items.. anything that we touch and also that can impact the air we breathe.

But here is the crunch... we are not saying that all petrochemical based products are bad or should be excluded.. where would we be in the modern world without plastics.. however, we are letting too many microplastics enter our bodies and nobody really understands fully how it will have an impact on our health...

So we are asking the community to ask questions, offer solutions.. discuss and find answers.. and NOT with conspiracy theories.

Our founder recently discovered why he could not get rid of a consistent cough.. lasting weeks... his lungs were clear but his nose dripped and the coughing became life changing...  and then whilst in the Philippines a senior Doctor from Cauayan City suggested that it is probably a allergy.   This got him thinking as he never had any allergies before... so by elimination he finally discovered that his favourite stretchy shirts were the cause...  somehow the plastics used were getting into his system and causing the allergy...

As a community we openly discuss not only our clothing, but also the furniture we sit on, the blinds at the windows, the carpets and rugs. We suspect that there's a lot more to this than first meets the eye's... or lungs, or blood stream !

Critical Infrastructure

The GUILD offers better mmc for housing, BUT we also have very specific mmc for Data Centres, BESS, MRI Suites, Storm Shelters and a whole host of specific engineered for purpose applications

As members we can not only find new applications but better ways to mmc.

Join the GUILD and start to discover that the world of construction is entering into a whole new era.

Due to the younger generation of architects, engineers, contractors and visionaries using a.i. in ways we never thought possible, and the human beings ability to use its ability to think "outside of the box".. we will discover new and better ways..

Critical Infrastructure should embrace the future and technology... and we need to act swiftly to keep up with its demands.. so by joining the GUILD, you can both teach, learn and get involved.

Decentralisation

What do we mean by decentralisation ?

For the GUILD it means, how can we create communities that rely far less on the national power grids, centralised sewerage and water supply systems, food production and waste disposal.

The less we use from a centralised system, the less the need for trucks and transport to carry the goods to us and the rubbish away from us...

But it goes further.. some call it self reliance.. which is in many cases true, be the GUILD see's it as a decentralisation topic to discuss and find way to deploy for the good of the human race and the world as a whole..

So rather than have a single topic on say energy and photovoltaics, we can instead discuss the whole topic of keeping things as close to home as possible...

It will wary widely, as different countries and climates will dictate outcomes, but if the drive to be as self reliant as possible is pushed to the front, then more will happen and we suspect massive savings will happen, and quality of life will increase.

So be it a skyscraper or a plot of land in the woods, or urban living next to a desert to beach front or lake side, or simply an alternative to whatever you have now.. lets discuss and make a change...
